It has become apparent that conservatives are no longer consulted or even discussed in today's politics, the reasons why are also apparent, we have been exiled outside of the political processes, the reasons for that are also clear, No one wants to be be responsible in politics at the state or national or Administrative level..
Case in point, 20% of our current Senators children have now found work as lobbyist's on Capital Hill, so they are being paid for the access to their parents for whichever special interest that can afford to pay them.
Another case in point OSHA is effectively trying to end the firearms industry through additional laws that would ban the transportation of not only cartridge ammunition, but also loading components such as primers and gun powder, and yet no serious mention is made of this by the supposed Conservatives on Capital Hill.
America faces a Global World Market and yet our schools are failing many of it's poor and minority students, though billions are spent on substandard education of the very people who are getting the bad end of so called free trade deals, in essence they are being trained to fail, and that is not Conservative at all.
WE have cities that are destroying businesses through regulations that are so Nanny Statist it makes one wonder if the people who propose and implement them have ever operated a business in Colorado, (Denver to be precise) a local city councilman threw a fit over a adult establishment allowing patrons to smoke inside that adult business, since one bar allows people to smoke, the councilmen proposed and saw to it that a smoking ban passed which closed every cigar and martini bar to close their doors.
These are just a few examples of how good old fashioned Common Sense Conservatism has gone into exile, the only Conservative who is out front of this depressing tide is Ron Paul, and he is more Crazy Uncle than Solid Politician, but perhaps that is what is needed for today's America, a leader who is out front and saying what works, no matter how out of step that may seem, to be normal in Today's America is to be a dissipator of public monies and a window peeker and delusionally tied to a status quo that does not work.
